Dal

Ingredients

Pressure cook
1/2 cup yellow moong dal
3 cups water
1 tomato chopped

Tempering
1 medium onion finely chopped
3 hot chillies chopped
1 clove garlic chopped
1/4-1/2 tsp ginger chopped
1/2 tsp fresh fennel seeds powder
3/4 tsp cumin seeds
Curry leaves
Cilantro leaves chopped
1 1/2 tbsp oil
Salt

Method
Pressure cook dal with water,turmeric and tomatoes in a pressure pan.In a skillet heat oil add cumin seeds,chillies,curry leaves,onions and salt.When the onions are nicely cooked add ginger,garlic,fennel seeds powder and cook for a minute.Add this to the cooked dal and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

ummm-ummm daal & scrambled eggs ,I do that so many times for dinner or lunch & I do the moong daal exactly the same except I add haldi and do not add fennel :)I am so hungry for real food,and my kitchen has been closed for 2 days now :(

wow, never added fennel seeds powder in the tempering. This time I will try this twist and I am sure it will be refreshing.
