1/4 cup rava/farina/sooji
5 cups 1% milk
3/4-1 cup sugar
1/4 cup fried cashews
1/4 cup chopped walnuts and almonds
Cardamom powder as per taste
Dry roast rava and set aside.Heat milk in a vessel and bring it to a nice boil making sure not to burn it.Mix the well roasted rava in the hot milk and stir well till the rava is cooked and the payasam thickens.Add 3/4th cup sugar first and then increase gradually as per taste while stirring well.Add the fried cashews,chopped almonds,walnuts,cardamom powder and stir well.Enjoy hot or cold.
Note:If you tend to burn the milk on the stove you can cook the milk in the microwave in a wide microwave safe vessel for about 10-15 mins,the milk should thicken a bit,then you can transfer to the stove and proceed with the method.
