Broccoli with Garlic Sauce

Pin It Now!
Broccoli and garlic are a family favorite in my household as are ethnic foods. One of my most favorite being Broccoli with Garlic sauce.Very easy to make with a prep and cooking time of about 10 mins.Perfect and flavorful meal for any season but even more so during the chilly winter months.

Ingredients
1 broccoli crown washed and cut
10 dry red peppers freshly finely powdered
3 tsp light brown sugar
2-3 tsp light soy sauce
1 large garlic clove grated
1 tsp corn starch
1/8 tsp grated ginger
1/4 cup + 2 tbsp water
3 tbsp oil
Salt as per taste

Method
In a small bowl add all the ingredients except oil and broccoli, stir the contents to blend well.In a deep pan heat oil add broccoli and stir for a min or till it turns to a bright green color.Add the contents in the bowl and stir to blend well. When the sauce thickens transfer into the serving bowl and enjoy hot.

What kind of red pepper do you mean? Aren't there lots of different kinds??

Dry red chilli peppers are the ones I used, they are the ones that I use for my Indian cooking, they can be found in any Indian grocery store. If you can find a hotter variety from anywhere else that should work too.

Thanks. I live in the middle of nowhere so there are no specialty stores. But I'll keep an eye out next time I'm in the city.
